The New Year is upon us, and Winter has descended upon the city, glistening with white powder and crackling quiet beneath her blanket of snow. Though the holidaze has passed, the gaze outside my 5th floor tenement looks a lot like an urban Christmas village, city sidewalks and rooftops twinkling in the glow of streetlamps and strings of lights left hanging by nostalgic New Yorkers (like me!) unwilling to strip the sparkle from the holiday season. At farmers’ markets round town, hardened root vegetables and ruffled, stealthy greens, have replaced fall’s harvest with the hum of winter’s barren landscape. Despite the cold and the quiet, The Dinner Belle has never had a busier January! Catering to clients eager to start off 2011 with a food-forward feast, we’ve been busy gearing up for fashion week and launch parties round town, bringing our comfort-chic menus to Manhattanites flaunting tailored tastes. To tempt your palette or inspire your next kitchen creation, I’ve posted a slideshow featuring some of the best pics we’ve snapped along the way while welcoming the wonders of the winter table. Watch the show, read my winter recipes, mix yourself a winter’s citrus cocktail, and Eat it Up!
