Desert farmers here I come! A fellow Facebooker shared this link to Vegas farmers' markets on my profile page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Las-Vegas-NV/Las-Vegas-Farmers-Market/105506383310?ref=ts Has anyone visited any of the spots? Is it worth luring me away from the pool for desert produce? XO

Thanks for sharing your cordial recipe, Kathy! It sounds peachy!!! I made cordials a couple of Christmases ago and gave them out as gifts...one year I even did a homemade Irish Cream to boot. Both were big hits. Who doesn't like a little moonshine, and of course, peaches???

Kimberly,

Thought you might like this little recipe I mixed up with South Carolina Peaches

Kathy Goodwin's
DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE PEACH CORDIAL LIQUORE RECIPE

DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE PEACH CORDIAL LIQUORE RECIPE

10 C. South Carolina peaches
(peeled and pitted)
4 C. Sugar
4 Cinnamon Sticks
1 oz Le Tourment Verte Absente
1/2 gal. White Rum
1 pt. Brandy

Directions:
I blanched the peaches in boiling water and then put them in iced water to make the skins slip off, then pitted the peaches and cut them in quarters.
I added the sugar ,rum, absente, and brandy to the carafe and stirred with a wooden spoon til sugar was dissolved. I added peaches and stirred again.
This will steep for 21 days . Stirring once a day.
**the Wild Berry Cordial I made awhile back was so wonderful I couldn't wait to try it again with peaches.

I love to wander a farmer's market. all those smells mixing together. Everything is fresh. Even better is picking the goodies in the fields. I eat more than I purchase. love this section
