It turned out really well. I made both yellow and green plantains and I think the yellow ones are a lot better. I ended up using a lot less honey than you prescribed but that's just a matter of preferences.

Next time, I'd roast some peanuts and garnish with that as well. Add a little crunch to the softness of the yellow plantains.

I spent some time in Ghana a few years back so I have a sweet spot for fried plantains and this recipe was a great way to relive those days. Thanks!

Thanks for the comment, AG! The truth is, things between the Jamaican and I just sort of fizzled out. My best guess is that we both met other lovers who seemed a better fit (at that time anyway). He brought a lot of beauty to my life and inspired a sense of possibility in me that I will always be grateful for. I hope the plantain recipes does him and your party-going friends justice. I'd love to know how it turned out!

Hey,

I was just googling plantain recipes and found a link to your website. I'm going to make the plantains tonight for a friend's party at his Bergen St apartment (the coincidence is a little unbelievable to me), but I find that I need to know what happened with the Jamaican man. I'll look around your blog, but if you don't talk about him again, can you provide a little closure to the story?

Thanks!
