THANX for the compliment and for catching my error Eileen! You are absolutely right about the internal chicken temp for a finished bird: it should be 180 degrees. I'm loving that I beat out Giada for your favorite Chix recipe. Ha!

A question though, isn't the statement "The chickens are done when a thermometer reads 145 degrees " a typo. Shouldn't it say 180 degrees?

I made this tonight, followed the recipe except for I only did sweet potatoes and onions under the bird, and I only made one chicken, but wow, this was totally and completely incredible! Words can't even describe. My husband took one bite and was like "this is amazing!". This by far beats out my old favorite recipe of Giada de Laurentiis' "Garlic and Citrus Chicken".
